Cheap Dates in NYC – Free & Inexpensive Activities
I’m writing this, because a male friend of mine says it is too expensive to date. Here are some things everyone can do on a date if you are on a tight budget.
•Off-off-Broadway shows can be watched for as little as $15 a ticket
•Lectures at the Y - say you’re a student and they’ll sell you a ticket for $12.50 sometimes.
•Dinner in the East Village, especially St. Marks place can be very inexpensive
•Have Sunday brunch instead of dinner, pre-fixes usually run for as little as $8.95, and comes with a free alcoholic beverage.
•Go the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and donate $1 to get in.
•Row boating in central park only costs $10 a boat, per hour.
•Picnic in Central Park
•Go to a club only when you can get in for free. (www.joonbug.com)
•Walk along the piers on the west side highway.
•Lincoln center’s midnight summer swing, it’s free and you get to dance outdoors.
•Concerts and events in the Central Park (www.centralparknyc.org), all free of charge.
•Free kayaking (www.downtownboathouse.org) nights and weekends in the summer.
•The Bronx Botanical Gardens is free for everyone Saturday mornings before 12pm.
•Lincoln center still offers standing room tickets for concerts, operas and ballets. Might not be a great date idea, but you can probably get a seat if the show isn’t too popular.
Money should not an excuse to not date someone. Stop being a selfish ass, and take a girl to some culture.
